Read Steven Wondu's excerpt and my response to him.

By Steven Wondu, Garang’s Boys: John Garang’s Orphans Beyond his Natural Household This is an excerpt from Ambassador Steven Wondu’s book: “From Bush to Bush: Journey to Liberty in South Sudan.”[1] John Garang’s prophecy October 15, 2016 (SSB) —- On 29th July 2005, information came that a helicopter Dr. John Garang was travelling in had disappeared. It left Entebbe late afternoon but had not landed at its destination in New Site in Eastern Equatoria. Its whereabouts and fate were unknown. The next day on 30th July, we were told that the helicopter had crashed somewhere in the Imatong Mountains. All passengers and crew, including our leader, had perished. The news of John Garang’s death was devastating . I was angry, confused and broken. I blamed him for not having been more careful. Did he not know that he had many powerful enemies out there? “We told you…oh foolish man…why did you not travel with Bior Ajang, Deng Alor or any senior officer who could sto...
Below is my response to Wilson Mading Koc , This guy is from Twi east of Jonglei State and I don’t understand why he ingenuously generalized the innocent citizen of Gogrial State. I will not dispute all you clearly revealed, but instruct you to stop your generalization of people of Gogrial or any group in South Sudan, you can say their names when you’re sure to be heard loud. I'm really flabbergasted that future leaders of this beautiful nation wanted to destroy their names struggling for today, and forget what come tomorrow. So, don’t just create a box and irreproachably put people in, be careful. Firstly, our generation is so much cursed and consecrated/blessed at the same time, the war started when some of us still at young age, grew up in war and got lucky to travelled far places as we both know. We had time to walk together, agonized in groups and learn to speak foreign languages; we didn’t hate each other that much. Mading koc, This is what you wrote, a ...

Changing to straight path and strong unity,

By Deng Madut Akech Akoon: Personally, I'm disturbed by those who are taking part in supporting or opposing outgoing governor and incoming governor, you're not making senses. Any community in Gogrial, should stand firm and wait President Kiir Mayardit's decision, you don't have the right to appoint or dismiss the person appointed by the highest authority in South Sudan, what brought this division among you? It's mind boggling to hear that some youth received payment to do their free campaign on behalf of these visionless leaders. I want Aguok Thiarkurou to be clean from these messes, united, more cooperation toward development, stop being negative, create new things, do more research following global issues, participate in youth activities and think outside the box. In former Gogrial State, do you know who can divide or unify us? In my understandable mind, we failed to choose leaders who are self aware, lead to inspire, turn words to actions, innovati...
My response to Thiik Mou, I read your article with attentiveness and to understand what drive you airing this wonderful information to South Sudanese discussants using the worldwide Technology realistically. I personally appreciated your great insightful knowledge of our own problems that will take years before we eradicate them out.   South Sudanese tribes did struggled and contributed equally; Jieng participation is tantamount to the contributions made by other sixty three tribes. We liberated this land jointly and if anyone deny it, then you’re an enemy to our people. If I pay tribute to Jieng people because it happens I belong to Jieng and pay no attention to other tribes, that’s the mother of tribalism in this case. If Jieng joined the SPLA in their huge number, this is because they are the largest tribes in South Sudan, but still other tribes have room in the struggle. For Jieng to be exceptionally smart and work with other South Sudanese, we need to speak lan...

To Gogrial State Governor,

You have a duty to be visiting many villages in Gogrial State to hear from poor people of our State, they want to know more about your governance. I told Akot Abiem on the phone and thought he did expound everything to you. I would personally be happy if you two put our citizens first than everything.   Cars cause many deaths this time of the year, enlighten your drivers to be careful on this rough roads in Gogrial State, changes should happen if possible. I went there two years ago and saw what I hated to see and blamed former failed Governors who robbed the State.     Put yourself in their shoes. Care much about them. Sleep less. Spent your free time talking with them. Change is talking, commitment, actions and hard-work. Good leaders make changes that work for people.                      ...
