  By Deng Madut Akech Akoon. 16 May tribute: I use this chance to honour our leader, Kuanyin Bol, who fired the first shot and was injured, along with Maker Jol Deng, who lost his life in Bor town, and the late Dr. John Garang de Mabior, who led the SPLM/A and fought relentlessly. The late Dr. John Garang de Mabior, leader of the SPLM/A, demonstrated unwavering determination in his fight.
