16 May tribute:
I use this chance to honour our leader, Kuanyin Bol, who fired the first shot and was injured, along with Maker Jol Deng, who lost his life in Bor town, and the late Dr. John Garang de Mabior, who led the SPLM/A and fought relentlessly. The late Dr. John Garang de Mabior, leader of the SPLM/A, demonstrated unwavering determination in his fight.
In May 1983, our leaders armed themselves and ventured into the bush to combat the Khartoum regime, achieving their objective. They engaged in combat with Gaafar Nimerir, Sadiq Al Mahdi, and Omar Hassan Al Bashir until they were victorious.
From 1955, Joseph Lagu and other leaders fought together against our enemies. Late William Deng Nhial, was another instrumental in the struggle for self-determination of South Sudan. He painted our history until the Late Dr. John Garang began from where he left it, we're here because of them. Col Emmanuel Abur Nhial, who refused to join the tyrant government of the Sudan, knew that these thugs would fail to observe the Addis Ababa Agreement of 1972. I wholeheartedly give them unlimited credit for their commitment and dedication to our freedom, safety and stability in South Sudan.
I remember those who died in battle, including CDR Majok Mach Aloung in Kapoeta and Deng Dau on the Juba-Yei road, and many others who gave their lives for the cause. A true South Sudanese would keep them in their heart and sustain peace among our tribes; I would stay a farmer if the government is too hazardous, but not to kill my people with guns. That's what a natural criminal would do to attain the top spot.We must remember those who died fighting for our freedom until we finally took control of South Sudan. Our enemies used bombs, chemicals, and other weapons to kill our people and ruin our land, making it impossible to grow food.
Forgiveness proves challenging for our citizens, considering the immense suffering they experienced during the looting of our populations in Bhar El Ghazal and other regions of South Sudan by Arab and militia groups. Late Clement Mboro stated in October 2002 that the truth was that they came to Juba Conference after the British Parliament had annexed the South to Northern Sudan.
Dr. Garang's greatest legacy should be our guiding principle for national unity in South Sudan as we strive to build our nation
His political contributions to South Sudan put us on the world map, and we will always remember his sacrifices with his fellow comrades. The involvement of external actors in Dr. Garang's death, if true, would be reminiscent of the Congolese situation in 1961, where foreign governments played a part.Patrice Lumumba's family is now aware of the circumstances surrounding his assassination, and the exact manner in which he was executed. Similarly, the cause of Dr. Garang's death in a plane crash will also be revealed.
Let us continue to speak and use the tongue of peace to unite our sixty-four tribes, allowing South Sudanese people to reside anywhere and burying our differences. Let us build stadiums, name them after our late leaders, parks, roads, rivers, hospitals, schools, hotels, restaurants, and soccer teams. It's time to sing our noble war song and shout the names of our martyrs who fought for our freedom, sacrificing their self-interest for our sake.
I Show full respect for our brave men and women who fought with their lives in the war. you sacrificed your lives for us to have a place we call home.
Our home is a testament to your sacrifices, and I declare my loyalty to our nation and its leaders, whose names are forever remembered in South Sudan.
Let us embrace peace and work towards unity to enjoy fruitful independence every year. Forgiveness and reconciliation are crucial. Today, we have been given light that will shine forever; let us not head towards destruction, whether it be the Red Sea or an ocean. Let us build a nation that belongs to all of us.
pay tribute to our martyrs, wounded heroes, financial supporters, villagers, leaders, and parents who contributed to our liberation. Let's respect each other and work together to change lives in South Sudan, let us discourage division and move forward in peace.
Our fallen heroes and wounded and disabled soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation, which some wanted to destroy. Let's recall Tiger, Jamus, and Tumsah's reliance on this land. Congratulations to KatibaBanat, Koryom, Muor Muor, Zazal, and the unit I missed. Our martyrs didn't die in vain; they fought for our freedom and a place to call home. We celebrate 105 and 104 Battalions as we remember their contributions to our success on 16 May.
Paying final tribute to our fallen leaders in Gogrial, including Pilot CDR Caesar Madut Ring, CDR Lino Longar Lueth, CDR Anyar Mayol, Ayak Achuil Ngong, and Ayom Reech Mawien; the last two were killed by Marahileen.
The South Sudan government must prioritize stability, forgiveness, and reconciliation, and establish transparency, accountability, and good governance from the central government to the state level. A permanent constitution would enable citizens to elect their state governors and representatives in the national government. will not be loyal to leaders who are corrupt and documented, whether they are in the national government or at the state level.
To achieve durable peace in South Sudan, we must implement the Nairobi peace agreement. Paul Malong Awen Anei, a courageous Commander during our struggle, deserves forgiveness and a warm welcome home. A leader who prioritizes his people will return home and shape the lives of his people, fostering permanent peace in our country.
